SARAH JESSICA PARKER STUDDED SHOES

We mentioned before that one spring fashion trend to get ready for is studded belts. Now you can add studded shoes to that list as well. Costume designer Patricia Field, who most likely selected these shoes for Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker's character, to wear in the Sex and the City movie, made a great choice (above, left).

If you're into studs but want a little more comfort, you are in luck! Juicy Couture makes cute studded flats in black and silver leather. The silver version is pictured above.

SEX AND THE CITY FLORAL DRESSES

We all know Carrie loves to stand out, and this dress is no exception. Check out that flower—that's a really big bloom! But if anyone can get away with it, it's her. This traffic-stopping dress is worn with those Christian Dior gladiator sandals that Carrie loves. Their rugged, tribal effect grounds the full-on femininity of the dress, which keeps the look from being too frilly.

What a perfect spring dress! The peachy-pink and white floral pattern is lush yet demure, and with Carrie Bradshaw's gold locks it's a winner. In typical Carrie fashion, she's tweaked it with her own accent: a studded wide belt that makes the look slightly edgy.

I think I changed my mind—this might be my favorite floral dress. A vintage Christian Dior, it looks stunning on Ms. Bradshaw.

Again with the studded belt. This one accessory completes so many outfits, giving them a modern edge. As do the Dior gladiator sandals, of course. This bold green is sure to turn heads, and so will that Eiffel Tower bag...cute!

Which is your favorite?

SARAH JESSICA PARKER PEEP TOE SHOES

"The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun."
-Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City

Peep toe shoes are in style and will continue to be this spring and summer, especially for Sex and the City fans. The shoes on the left, above, are worn by Carrie Bradshaw in the upcoming Sex and the City movie. They are lace up, peep toe, brown patent leather—a great combo of several current elements.

We also like the Cole Haan black patent leather peep toe pumps pictured above. They're sexy and sassy—but you can wear them to work, as well, with a wide range of outfits.

Who would have thought to pair these shoes with knee-high socks? Carrie Bradshaw is quite the trendsetter. But we have known that for years!

PATRICIA FIELD STYLES SATC MOVIE

Costume designer Patricia Field, who worked on the Sex and the City series as well as "The Devil Wears Prada," dressed the girls up in some pretty fantastic fashions. Though the right-off-the-runway looks can verge on extravagant, she did include some wearable and fun outfits, shoes, and accessories you can count on seeing this spring.

Some of these trends include, but are definitely not limited to knee-high socks (solid and argyle), floral prints, gladiator sandals, and studded belts.

Which trend are you most likely to try?

SEX AND THE CITY MOVIE FASHION DESIGNERS

They're back!

The movie Sex and the City comes out on May 30th, but we here at Plaza Too have had our eyes on the film's fashions since we dug up the first sneaky pictures fans and paparazzi took of the filming of the movie a few weeks ago in New York City.

Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie Bradshaw dons some pretty outrageous looks: A glamorous wedding gown (pictured below) by Vivienne Westwood; trendy gladiator sandals—worn with several outfits—by Christian Dior; a kitschy Eiffel Tower bag by Timmy Woods; shoes by Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Burberry and Proenza Schouler; and dresses by Roberto Cavalli, Blumarine, Dior, Dolce and Gabbana....need we go on?!

HELLO, MY NAME IS TOM MENDES

Hello, I'm Tom Mendes and I am the CEO and co-founder (along with my brother John) of Plaza Too, a boutique specializing in women's shoes and accessories. Owning two boutiques in New York City and a handful more in Westchester County and Connecticut keeps my knowledge of fashion growing everyday! I am surrounded by gorgeous shoes, bags, accessories and outfits everywhere and I like to think I have a part in that.

I am passionate about fashion, especially shoes, because I believe the way someone dresses has a direct impact on the way they feel about themselves. The better you look, the more confidence you have. To make someone feel good about themselves is a wonderful feeling that keeps me motivated and makes me love my job even more than I already do!

Plaza Too started many years ago as a small town shoe shop in Larchmont (complete with gardening shoes and white tennis socks). Plaza Too has grown to become the alternative to department stores for shoe lovers. No more disastrous floor or sales attendants who never come back. From sky-high Givenchy dream stilettos, to furry BC outdoor bunny shoes, to Wellies, this downtown boutique has something for everyone, both in style and price point. Amongst tons of other brands, the shop stocks Tory Burch, Badgley Mischka, Belle by Sigerson Morrison, Bettye Mueller, Coach, Kate Spade, and our personal favorite, Paul Smith. But lots of stores have an array of brands. What makes Plaza Too a winner is the utter lack of snobbiness. A hilarious and friendly staff doesn't assess your buying power on entry; no one frowns on your latte and makes you set it aside; and this is all obvious instantly by our stream of regular customers, who clearly feel at home. You will, too, on your very first visit, and probably find yourself coming back to stock up also on bags (Botkier, Furla, Hayden Harnett, Lauren Merkin), jewelry (Alexis Bittar, CC Skye, Chan Lu, Kenneth J. Lane), hats, and other bits and bobs.
